The U-17 Women team coach Sebastian Nkoma gives instructions to players attending the Airtel Rising Stars clinic which is being at the Jakaya Kikwete Youth Park, Dar es Salaam.

Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has been called to continue developing players who are attending a one week Airtel Rising Stars clinic which is being held at the Jakaya Kikwete Youth Park in Dar es Salaam.
The call has been made by the Twiga Stars Assistant Coach Edna Lema who is one of the coaches who are conducting the clinic which comprises players scouted during the sixth edition of the Airtel Rising Stars tournament.
We have great players in our country and the ones we are training here justify that. In order for them to continue keeping their standards we need to continue developing them. What happens now is that after this clinic, players will be released to continue with their normal life until when we have international competition is when we start looking for them. Unless we change the way we handle our players, we cannot be able to get success in football, said Lema.

Recently I was in Cameroon and what I saw was a very different way. They have a permanent camp for players of U-15, U-17, U-20, U-23 and senior players. By keeping the players together, they develop a good player to coach relation and always keep them ready for matches and that is no funny why the country is always participating at World Cup and Afcon tournament. I call upon TFF to adapt the way so that we can promote our game, said Lema. ‘Our players are very talented and have a passion and morale of playing professional but  we have to change our way of handling them,’ added Lema.

Commenting on the ongoing clinic, the Twiga Stars Assistant was very optimistic that the future Twiga stars will be of a great talents. The players we are training here are so talented that given the opportunity to pick a team is a challenge as you wonder whom to pick and who to drop.
I commended Airtel for supporting this youth program which for the sixth edition scouted players within 9 regions of our country and urge all stakeholders to support these efforts  as it is the best platform to identify players for our national teams, said Lema.

One of the 25 girls who attending the clinic,Eva Willes from Temeke Region said she was so excited to attend the Airtel Rising Stars clinic. Being one of participants of this clinic has given me a motivation of working extra hard to get the chance to join the National women team. I call other companies to emulate what Airtel is doing to support the youth programs in order to continue developing talents, said Willes.
